Job Description
As a Swim Instructor at Southern Saratoga YMCA Barracudas, you will lead swimming programs and offer customized individual and group lessons for children of different ages and skill levels. This position is perfect for students with a strong love for swimming, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to motivate young swimmers while fostering a love and respect for the water. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and self-driven Swim Instructor to join our team and support our Southern Saratoga YMCA Barracudas in Clifton Park, NY.
Responsibilities
• Provide swim instruction to students of all ages and abilities
• Ensure a safe and positive learning environment for all students
• Monitor and assess student progress, offering feedback and guidance as necessary
Requirements
• Experience working with students of varying ages and skill levels, preferably in an educational or instructional setting
• Proficient swimming abilities and knowledge of different strokes and techniques
• Strong understanding of water safety and survival skills
• Certification in CPR & First Aid (infant, child & adult)
• Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and creative teaching skills
• Effective behavior management skills, with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally
• Experience in childcare or sports coaching is a plus, showing an understanding of working with children in a structured environment
• Passion for swimming and working with children
