Job Description
As a Swim Instructor at Roosevelt Island Marlins Swim Team, you will take the lead on swimming programs and conduct both individual and group lessons aimed at children of different ages and skill levels. This position is perfect for students with a genuine love for swimming, exceptional communication abilities, and the talent to motivate young swimmers while fostering a deep appreciation for water safety. We are currently seeking a dedicated and driven Swim Instructor to become a part of our team and contribute to our Roosevelt Island Marlins Swim Team location in New York, NY.
Responsibilities
• Provide swim lessons for students of varying ages and skill levels
• Create a safe and encouraging learning environment for all students
• Track student progress and offer feedback and assistance as needed
Requirements
• Experience working with students across different ages and skill levels, ideally in an educational or instructional setting
• Proficiency in swimming techniques and knowledge of different strokes
• Strong familiarity with water safety and survival skills
• Certification in CPR & First Aid (infant, child, & adult)
• Outstanding communication, organizational, time management, and creative teaching skills
• Effective behavior management abilities to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally
• Background in childcare or sports coaching is advantageous, demonstrating experience with structured environments for children
• A genuine passion for both swimming and working with children
